Fun Activities On A Rainy Day for Entertainment for Kids
games to entertain kids |
Rainy weekends can be as difficult as rainy vacations for kids, especially when they are away from home, their friends, toys and other stuff. Here are some ways to help pass the time and arrange for entertainment for kids when it's rainy or otherwise inclement outside.
Everyone loves games and playing games to entertain kids can certainly work well. If you are away from home this can be tough, but you can always carry a set of card games or board games in the car so that you never run out of options.
A family movie is another good idea. There are a number of kids’ movies that are adult friendly ensuring that you do not have to suffer watching a movie that doesn’t appeal. Both movie theatres and a DVD at home work. If at home, you can also cook some snacks and turn it into an event.
Arts and Crafts projects are also great rainy day activities. The kids can play with Playdoh for hours and beads can occupy them for an entire afternoon. If they are not interested in this, perhaps a new art or craft you've saved for a day like this might excite them.
Building a fort inside from furniture, pillows, towels, and maybe more can also be a great activity. You do need to set some ground rules as to what they can and can't use, and perhaps explain that the fort needs to be disassembled and the parts put away before bedtime. They may want you to help as well, which might just mean advising them based on their ideas.
